Our Story

When the opportunity presented itself for Annie and Crystal to open Barn Door Baking Company they couldn't have been more excited. Friends for over two decades, they have dreamed about running a successful business together. Annie's dedication and passion to bake combined with Crystal’s retail and food service experience is what brought Barn Door Baking Company to life.

​Annie is a graduate of New England Culinary Institute. Her culinary skills were refined while working across California, Texas and Maine. It was in Austin, Texas where she found her culinary passion; making and decorating cakes and cupcakes. While in Austin, Annie was part of the winning team on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars! Since returning to Maine she has found herself where she always wanted to be, running her own bakery.

Crystal is a buyer and merchandiser for a specialty retail store. In the past, she managed a beverage service at WEF and other East Coast horse shows. She is a consummate baker who frequently redefines traditional desserts into gluten-free alternatives for her family.
